It was a beautiful day to shred! God blessed us with bright sunshine, a locale, a shredder, and a long line of residents who arrive before 9:30 am for the Southeast Chicago Chamber of Commerce and SSA #50’s community shred day held on May 13, 2017 from 10am to 1pm in Calumet Heights.
Special thanks to St. Ailbe Church for the use of their grounds, DDC for the large capacity shredder, the angel in disguised who brought us chamber workers water and protein bars, and the many residents who encouraged us to do this type of event again. The shred event was scheduled to end at 1pm, but the nice guys from DDC stayed until every document was destroyed…3:30pm!
Here are photos from the successful event:
Since Shred-mania was well-received by the neighborhood, another community shred event is scheduled for September 2017. Stay tuned for more details on the next community shred day.
