Regional Stormwater Management Regulations  

Public comments are being accepted through Friday, March 31, on proposed amendments to the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago’s (MWRD) Watershed Management Ordinance (WMO).  Comment by email ( or postal mail to Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, Local Sewer Systems Section, 111 E. Earth Day Event

The Metropolitan Planning Council (140 S. Dearborn St., Suite 1400, Chicago) is hosting an Urban Think+Drink on Thursday, April 20, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., featuring author Arthur Melville Pearson, whose new book, Force of Nature, profiles George Fell, the driving force behind establishment of The Nature Conservancy.  Registration is required, and the cost is $15.

Green Economy Summit

The University of Illinois at Chicago’s new Economic Development Administration University Center promotes green economic development with a focus on the Calumet Corridor.  The Center will host a free community summit, “Sizing up our Region’s Green Economy,” on May 1, from 9:30 a.m. to noon., at Chicago State University (9501 S.
